I was using my Outlook, bought as part of Office 2003 professional, with no probs this morning, had lunch, then went to add an item to the calendar and it came up with the message "Could not save item". I thought that perhaps I had too many items in my mail boxes/calendar so I emptied some of my recycle box on my desktop (worked OK). I then got rid of some of my deleted mail box in Outlook (worked OK). Then I tried to delete some of the old calendar entries - this removed the entry but gave the error message "This item may not have been deleted properly. If someone sent you the item, their copy may not be updated."
After each of the three actions I tried to add an entry but still got the "Could not save item" message.
I am still logged in as me so my authority should be ok and anyway some things were deleted.
Would love some suggestions in non-techy language. Thanks Kara

Thanks for your help. It is resolved now. I had a faulty splitter/filter on my router (the internet just stopped working yesterday afternoon while I was having lunch, but all back up OK now that splitter has been changed). So if your diagnosis is right then I guess that for a short while before the splitter completely gave up, my computer was still connecting to the internet (after all I did manage to post my query) but having a negative effect on my outlook calendar. Next time this happens I'll change my splitter straight away - it has taken 4 hours to sort out!!!
Thanks again. Kara

PS have put in confusing time schedules in last message. Outlook stopped working over lunch, internet died later in afternoon.
Always amazed there are people kind enough to help. Wish I could have used this forum to work out why my internet wasn't working!!!
Thanks again. Kara
ThanksKara

I have got the same problem....'could not save item' comes up intermittently in the calendar. This forces me to reboot....but the computer also is not happy doing so and I have had to switch off the power on a few occasions just to reboot, which clears the Outlook problem...but only for a while.
Help! This is SO frustrating! Any ideas would be helpful!!
