.odt file? open in office 2007?

Someone has sent me an odt file which i assume is open office or the like. how the hell can i open it in office 2007?

Ask 'someone' to resend it as a .doc file. The creator has the ability to save it as such.

Before you do anything first read the translator overview HERE.

And yes you're correct ODT file format is part of the Open Document Format for Office Applications (OpenOffice).
