LAST WEEK, ALL OF A SUDDEN I COULDNT USE MAIL MERGE IN WORD. IT WOULD OPEN A BLANK EXCEL SPREADSHEET & FREEZE UP. NOW THIS MORNING, I CANT OPEN anything IN MY DOCUMNETS. I CAN OPEN WORD OR EXCEL AND THEN OPEN THE DOCUMENT I NEED, BUT I CANT OPEN ANYTHING FROM "MY DOCUMENTS" I RAN SPYBOT & ADAWARE THE OTHER DAY, I RUN MACAFEE AS MY VIRUS SOFTWARE. I AM CURETNLY RUNNING THE FREE ONLINE SCAN FROM TREND MICRO TO SEE IF THAT FINDS ANYTHING. any HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED. I'M NOT GOING TO GET NY WORK DONE THIS WAY

Firstly, typing in all Caps is shouting and considered very rude.
Are the files that you open using File Open in your My Documents folder? What exactly do you mean by "BUT I CANT OPEN ANYTHING FROM "MY DOCUMENTS" What happens if you try?
Did you try a Repair of Office or run System Restore to a date before the problem started? What actions did you take immediately preceding the problems? Any new software installs? SP3 perhaps? Hotfixes?
