Specs: Windows XP
If E2 has an "x", then show contents in d2, if not then multiply contents in d2 by 2.25 (micsoft excel 2003)

Per the Excel Help files, the syntax for an IF function is:

IF(logical_test, [value_if_true], [value_if_false]) which means:

If the logical_test is TRUE, return the [value_if_true], if the logical_test is FALSE, return the [value_if_false]

Your logical_test is E2 = "X"

Your [value_if_true] is D2

Your [value_if_false] is D2*2.25

=IF(E2="X", D2, D2*2.25)
