Comment:

Our PC system was set for separate user areas for my husband and myself so we can have our preferred settings. I was made Admin and have spell check available in Word97 but when my husband uses Word97 from his user area he has no spell check. Anyone know if this is fixable?

Thanks
Julie

Is the icon on the toolbar? What happens when he uses the File Menu? Tools, Spelling and Grammar (might be a little different for the older version...)? Are there any errors?

Just a little help with terminology..Please don't take offense. What you're referring to as "user area" is "user profile." So, under your profile, the spell check works. Under your husband's profile, it doesn't. :)

Hi Jennifer. Thanks for your reply.

I went across into my husband's profile (thanks for that) and the spelling icon is on his Word toobar but when I clicked on it nothing happened.

Going to Tools/Option I see all the tabs there are available except Spelling and Grammar - it is greyed out.

Any thoughts?

Julie
