no contacts from new mail outlook97

Hi,
In Ms outlook 97, I went in CONTACTS (clicked on it from left side), and I did a new contact.
The new contact appears under CONTACTS, but when I create a new mail message, then I click on TO, in the "Select Names" dialog box, if I choose "Show names from Outlook Address Book ", I dont see that entry...
I can see it if I choose "Show names from Contacts " ...but Contacts is part of the Outlook Address Book , so I should have seen it at the first try, right? Otherway, how can I have my new contact entry displayed right at following selection: "Show names from Outlook Address Book "
