I am assuming you want these numbers in cells, right?

In any cell in Row 1 enter this:

=INT(ROW()/2)+1

In Row 2 enter this:

=ROW()/2

Select both cells, grab the AutoFill handle and fill both formulas down as far as you need.

Edit...Copy...PasteSpecial Values to replace the formulas with numbers.

I use a simple basic program. Any program that will print in the right position will work, With some applications the copies option in print will do the repeated numbers. Hope your printer has reliable feeding. A doubled feed blows the whole job. Got to watch the output stack continuously.

edit - with 2 part NCR error will lose one set. Just fix collation order before padding, 3 and 4 part is harder.

Thank you for the quick response.
I ran it down once from 1 to 500
and in the second colum from 501 to 1000
Copied and pasted below that and then sorted.
its been a long day.
