Solved Need to open a MAC Word file in my Widows Word 2010.

Specs: Windows 7, 3 GB DDR2 667 SDRAM

I have a MAC Word file (I think with some pictures in it) that I can't open in my Windows Word 2010 program. I get a message saying there's a problem with the MAC Word file content. If I could just get a copy of it or perhaps just a pdf file, that would suffice. Help! Is there a charge for this?

Do you have a Mac available to open the file? If so, does it actually open on the Mac? Perhaps it's corrupt and won't open on any machine.

If you can open it on a Mac, there may be a Save option to save it as a PDF.

If all else fails, you could download a copy of OpenOffice and see if that application can open it.

No, I do not have a MAC to see if the file opens there. Due to time restraints, I had to send an email back to the person who sent me the file and had to ask him to save it in Windows Word format which he did, sent it back to me this morning and I was able to open it just fine. In future though, I would like to try Open Office to see if that helps. Thanks so much for the response.
