Need Help with an IF in Excel for Dropdown

September 27, 2011 at 14:26:13
Specs: Windows XP
I am making an excel sheet for an inventory file. I was using drop downs by creating another sheet in the file and naming a column of sizes "sizes" and then using Data Validation to "=sizes" for the size field on the inventory sheet.

We now need to add multiple size categories as we now have womens, children, etc in our inventory. Instead of having a huge list of sizes for the inventory person to look through I would like to have the size column check another column named (category) so if the person picks "Mens" the sizes column will only show a list of Mens Sizes.

I have already used the other sheet to make 4 lists of sizes and named them appropiately (mens, womens, children, toddler).

What is the best way to do this call from excel? Can I use the Data Validation Source section to an "IF" function?
