# Need help to create the correct formula

Specs: Windows 7
Hi,I'm new to excel and love using it and have successfully created some formulas out of trial and error, but I can't seem to figure out this one which I would think would be simple (it's quite frustrating). I've tried for some time now and can't figure it out so I'm going to ask for help. What I'm looking for is on my spreadsheet in cell E24 is a cost (ex: \$300), in cell F24 and/or G24 would be the amount based on who paid for it (ex: Party A (F24) or Party B (G24) paid the \$300), then in cell H24 I would like to create a formula where it enters which Party paid for it based on if cell F24 has the \$ or G24 does. Here's the formula that I have to start =IF(F24,A19,A21) but I can't figure out how to get it to work to include in the calculation for column G (that's when I fail). I might totally be doing it incorrectly, but again, I'm new to excel.Thank you for any help anyone can provide.

This should get you what you request, but what happens if they split the cost? What happens if they make only a partial payment?=IF(F24=E24,"Party A",IF(G24=E24,"Party B",""))MIKEhttp://www.skeptic.com/
