|You can also do it with a formula, assuming you are looking for a cell by cell comparison.|
Copy each "matching" worksheet from the 2 files into a single file, using names like:
MySheet and MySheet_2
Then, in a 3rd sheet, put this formula in A1 and drag it over and down as far as you need:
=IF(MySheet!A1=MySheet_2!A1,"-","MySheet!" & ADDRESS(ROW(),COLUMN()) &
" shows " &"'" & MySheet!A1 & "'" & " but MySheet_2!" &
ADDRESS(ROW(),COLUMN()) & " shows " &"'" &MySheet_2!A1&"'")
You'll get a "-" (dash) in cells that match, and something like this for cells that don't:
MySheet!$A$2 shows 't' but MySheet_2!$A$2 shows '987'
Granted, this is not showing "changes, additions, deletions", it is merely showing the differences between the 2 sheets. I'm not sure how any app would know what was "changed, added or deleted". Unless I'm missing something, the only thing a "comparison" app can do is tell you what is different between the 2 files, not how that changes came to be.
