Hello fellow techs,
I haven't seen much in the line of the issue of needing to reinstall MS Office after you install their patch for msblaster.exe, so I felt obliged to inform you all to do so, otherwise Office will incorporate odd character replacements in your documents, among other abnormalities I haven't found in testing so far.Anyone with further info, please indulge us on this.
thanks.
Chuck

Here's a related problem, posted at a different community:
"Hey guys, this is one I never came across, when starting Excel I am getting the message "Cannot Use Object Linking And Embedding" and then in Excel (which functions normally otherwise) I cannot Paste into cells.
I tried re-installing Office but to no avail, I also tried using the repair option and this is not working. It is Office 2000 and it is affecting 3 PCs on a network.
One other bit of information, when I re-installed Office it worked fine for a while and then eventually it comes up with a service control manager error and then goes back to the "Cannot Use Object Linking And Embedding".
The staff do not know how they may have caused this but examining the error logs reveals that the same error started happening a few days ago around the same time on the three PCs.
Any ideas? I have searched the web but to no avail! Any help much appreciated as I am running out of ideas, Thanks, Fintan"
The reply he got is this one:
