I have mutliple users on 1 Pc in an exchange 2003 environment. The pc REQUIRES 1 username/login. i have set up different profiles in outlook to distinguish the different users. In doing this, each profile is required to enter a username and password. my problem is that every time a user logs in he/she sees the cached inbox mail of the previous user. i have played around with the offline file settings and still can't seem to prevent the cached mail from being displayed. So 2 things;

1. is there something (tool/utility)available to save the usernames on the outlook login screen? the screen only saves the last user that logged in.

2. is there something that will prevent 1 user from seeing the cached inbox of the last logged in user's mailbox?

i realize using the owa would solve my problem, but the outlook client is what is preferred.

any thoughts would be helpful.

If you're using different profiles for each user, and you've configured those properly, then each user will not be able to see any other user's data.

You should have the option showing to select which profile should be loaded; NOT to always load one particular profile.

I guess I don't need to tell you it's not a good idea to have all users logging into the machine with the same login, but I'm curious as to why it's "Required."

I do have each profile configured properly and am "prompting" for which profile to load. While the user is typing in their username and password you can see the mailbox of the previous logged in users. This is what i am trying to prevent.

So back to my question; why is the computer login required? Perhaps there are alternatives that have not been explored.

Also, what username and password are they typing? If you have separate profiles set up, no password should be required. Unless you have password protected pst files. Regardless, unless they are all using the same pst file, there is no way each other's data can be accessed thorough another profile. Assuming of course that the Outlook profiles are configured properly.
