MS-Word 2003 error message on start

Comment:

I have a user who gets the error, "The command cannot be performed because a dialog box is open. Click OK, and then close open dialog boxes to continue." The KB article on support.microsoft.com points to a fix that does not apply, where the startup template needs to be deleted. Any suggestions?

Yes, MSFT's kb article suggests items in the startup folder, but there is nothing in the startup folder. Any other suggestions?

Have you checked all the Startup folders? Including the Registry and the Microsoft Office Startup folders?
