MS Works word processor won't open

My MS Works word processor won't open all of a sudden. The message says that it cannot locate a file needed to open the program. So it seems it became corrupted. I'm pretty sure that MS Works came with XP on the computer when I bought it.
The question is how do I find what the missing file is and restore it?
