I recently had to reinstall windows XP, so all my programs got erased off the system. Now I'm trying to install Microsoft Works 2000. It installs fine, but when I try to access it, I get an error message...I took a screenshot of it, url is:
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v193/sabah89/error.jpghas anyone else encountered this before? I tried uninstalling and then installing it again but the same thing happened. At the moment I have Works documents on my system but I cannot open them, even when the program appears to be installed.
Thanks to anyone who can give me some advice

I did a search on the MSKB. This is the first article that shows:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;279291
Or, you can try this link:
http://support.microsoft.com/search/default.aspx?query=works+cannot+access+one+or+more+required+files&catalog=LCID%3D1033&pwt=false&title=false&kt=ALL&mdt=0&comm=1&ast=1&ast=2&ast=3&mode=a&x=0&y=0

Thanks for the link...I was ready to try that out later today, and then I noticed that the "Works" icon was showing up on my works documents. So I tried to open them, but now it is telling me that "the file may be in use by another application, the file format may not be supported by any of the installed converters, or the file may be corrupt". This happens with all of the files, and I don't understand how they could have all become corrupted. I had a look at microsoft support and the page told me that "This behavior can occur when you attempt to open or save a Microsoft Windows Write (.wri) file". But these files are not .wri files...

I have MSN dial-up subscription. I installed MS works and now spell checker does not work for me. It errors me that I will have to install dictionary.
