MS Word Template Date

Microsoft Word 2007
June 17, 2010 at 22:18:45
Specs: Windows Vista
When a document is created from a template, the date is not saved correctly.
If the INSERT FIELD DATE is used then when teh document is reopened at a later date the date changes to the current date.
If the INSERT FIELD SAVEDATE or CREATEDATE is used then the date of the document is the date that the template was saved or created which is a long time ago.
How do I get the document to be the date IT was created and so that it does not chenge when subsequently opened.

I am not really good at Word, but I do know that when putting in a
{ CREATEDATE } or { SAVEDATE } you should be using the Insert --> Field --> Date and Time sequence and that putting them in the Header/Footer can be problematic.

Before you save the file, click on the date.
(It should highlight the entire date.)

Press Ctrl + Shift + F9

That will change the date to a static date.
