My MS word program has begun to print the last page first, etc. This is new behavior for it. Is it possessed???

There's a print option that causes that to happen. Select File, Print. Click the options button. In the second column there's an option to reverse print order. Uncheck it and you should be fine.
Just a guess; in the printer properties, look for a box or tab that reads collate.

Thanks for that tip. I did check it and it is already checked for "print front to back" . Is this the same? I also checked a box that said "reverse order" because it was currently unchecked (and printing backwards).

I think you need to uncheck print front to back and uncheck reverse order.
