Whenever I try to close any word file I get following err message:

"Normal was being edited by another word session. I f you save this document with the original name, you will overwrite any changes made in the other sessions"

Do you want to save the document with the original name anyway?

Yes /No /Cancel

Why it is appearing ? and how can I solve it ?

I am using office 2000 pro.

Thanx for help

Dilip

it's talking about normal.dot (document template) This contains the default settings for a new document.

If you boot up, go into word, and file / new / blank document, without anything else running, do you get the same error?

if so then normal.dot may be damaged. you could try saving it without changing anything and see if that corrects the problem. otherwise you'll need a new copy of it. unfortunately i'm not running office 2000 on this machine so my .dot file may not be the same as your original.
