MS office won't allow me to open hyperlinks

July 24, 2012 at 07:29:06
Specs: Windows 7
When I try to open a hyperlink in a document MS Office (Word, Excel, OneNote, etc) will no longer allow to do so. I window comes up and says "The operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator ." This is my personal laptop so I am the administrator, has a feature been turned on or off, and if so,, which one? This just started a couple of days ago.

What is the hyperlink linking to? a web page? a file directory?

have you tried to manually copy paste the URL into a web browser? or Windows explorer?

it could be that the file you are trying to link to is restricted, ie it is located on the C:\ drive.
