Hi,

Probably a stupid question, but I have to ask.

A coworker just bought her daughter a new computer which came with a trial version of MS Office. At the same time she also bought her daughter the Students/Teachers version of MS Office and wants to install it, but she doesn't know if she should uninstall the trial version first, or install on top of the trial version.

My gut instinct is to uninstall the trial version first, but I am not sure.

Anyone know which is the proper way to go about doing this?

Thank you

I don't think it will make much difference which way you do it. The trial version, as the name suggests, will expire after a given period of time. Installing the Students/Teachers version will eliminate time element. Even if by some chance the trial version should expire after some time, re-installing the Students/Teachers version will reinstate it.

To be absolutely safe you could un-install the trial version then install the Students/Teachers version afterwards. Un-installing will only take a couple of minutes at the most and then you can start afresh with the new version. The Students/Teachers version should not be dependant on the trial version to make it work.

Thank you StuartS. Ya, I'm going to go with uninstall of the trial version and then the install of the Student/Teacher version.
