I have a spreadsheet with two columns, one for category, one for amount. I need to write a formula that will find all the values in category that match and add the corresponding amounts. Please help. Thanks

Look at the SUMIF function in Excel help.

You may want to start with an Advanced Filter to create a list of all the unique values in your category list and then reference that list with your SUMIF functions.

Give it a try and come on back if you need more help.
