Comment:

Is it possible to have a number overlap the adjacent cell like text does?

I want to do this so I can have daily subtotals in a separate column to to the data, but have it look like it is underneath. (ie in a column that is only 1 pixel wide). This way, I can get a monthly total of all subtotals without including the original data inputs into the sum.

I'm not totally clear on what you are trying to do, but have you looked into merging the cells?

Select 2 (or more) adjacent cells and click the "Merge and Center" button on the Formatting toolbar - the box with the little a and the arrows in it.

I have, and it does not solve the problem. All it does is screw up the sum.

No, wait. Yes it does.

I was adding the column on the right and merging the sub totals cells. Which wouldn't work.

By adding the column to the left of the data and merging the data cells and not the sub totals, I am able to do it.

Thank you.
