Missing menu in MS Word

Specs: Windows Vista
Problem with Microsoft Word 2000. (My operating system is Vista.) The Menu bar (the one with 'File' 'Edit' etc) has disappeared. I can still open Word documents and access things like "Font" or "Search" through shortcut keys. However, all I see in the page is the ruler bars - no menus at the top. It is not on Full Screen mode. I've tried deleting "normal.doc" ... but it just comes back. Please help! email: mint.cheesecake[at]sympatico.ca

Try pressing 'Alt' and 't' together - this should temporarily give you the tools menu, then select 'customize' from it and then the 'toolbars' tab - is there a 'menu bar' option? if so, make sure it's selected.
