Microsoft Works Won't -

It won't work, that is. It came with the computer & ME. When we try to open a works programme, the error message is: "A file is missing so microsoft works cannot run. please reinstall ms works." Can we reinstall it from Microsoft downloads???? Thanks for any advice.

You really need to re-install the software. You say Works was pre-installed...
If you bought the computer new, there should be a Works disk that came with it - if not contact the computer manufacturer.
If the computer is used and you didn't get the disk, then you don't have a license for Works and it't illegal to have it installed.
If you need an office suite but don't want to spend money, there are several Freeware office programs available, including ProSuite 602 and OpenOffice, both of which are as good as, or better than MS Works.
