Comment:
If I install MS Works Suite 2000 will I be vulnerable to things that would have been patched in MS Works 9, or can I rely on my internet security (Kaspersky) to catch any threats?

Individual software programs aren't usually a target for hackers/virii, etc. Hotfixes/patches for programs are normally to correct problems within the software functionality; not to patch a security vulnerability.
Make sure your OS is updated, and that you're updating your anti-virus and malware detection programs, and don't run with Admin privileges all the time, and you should be fine.
