Ok the situation is this. At work i have a log sheet filled with hundreds of 7 digit reference numbers with no specific numerical order that each belong to a specific page. I wanted to list these in microsoft word or excel with the page number they belong to however i was wondering does microsoft offer a tool that you can type in a specific word (or in my case 7 digit number) and it will locate it for you within the document? If not what do you guys recomend to help me out.

Your information is not specific enough but MS Excel is a wonderful application.
If your data is a text document that contains columns and rows then you can import/open it from within Excel and you can easily format it so you can use lookups to find the data you need and/or sort them as needed unless your document is in paragraph format. If the later then a tool/utility noted above would be what you need.
Perhaps, you could provide examples of the data you have and the data you seek along with how they are presently formatted.

Or, you can use the Edit, Find Option and type in the number you're searching for.
