Comment: Hi, I have Microsoft office 2000. Will this program run in Windows XP Pro or is it just for Windows 2000. Thanks Randy

Reply: (edit)Can't say about XP, but it's not just for Windows 2000. The "2000" refers to the year it was released. I run Office 2000 on Win 98 and Me. -Bob

Reply: (edit)I'm trying to install MS Office 2000 SR-1 Professional on a Dell CPx P3 650MHz laptop, using Windows 98SE. The CD starts to load, but right after the initial installation window appears, I get another window that says the install failed due to a fatal error. This also happens on an older PC that I changed the hard drive out on, and loaded with Windows 98. I installed the Windows Installer 2.0 update from Microsoft's website onto the laptop, but I still haven't had any success. Any ideas or suggestions? Thanks!
