Mic. Word hangs on Start up

Hey there, I'm using an Acer laptop. And Word 2002 hangs everytime I open a document. I've tried repairing and reinstalling the whole office, but it still doesn't work. Even when I type ctrl+alt+del, it doesn't show up as a task. What exactly must I do to solve this problem?

Delete any normal.dot files and try again. :)

I found that solution online and did it. And it works for the first time I open Word. Once i close that, and try to open it again, it hangs. And another normal.dot file appears. :/ Does this mean I have to keep deleting it when I want to open a document?
Thanks for the help!

Does the problem happen for all profiles or just the one you normally use?

Sorry, I'm not exactly technologically savvy? What do you mean by profile?
If you mean only on this username logon, then no, I tried the guest user and word hangs on startup too.
If you mean only for one word file, then no as well. It happens every single time.
Sorry if i misinterpreted it terribly. Just to get a faster solution, I'd rather be very, unnecessarily detailed. :)
