Making excel cells automatically mirror one another

June 15, 2012 at 01:36:16
Specs: Windows 7
The goal of my spreadsheet is to basically link 2 cells to be complete mirrors of one another.

For example if cell A1 is red and has nothing but a numerical value, say 304,
I would like cell D5 to have that same numerical value and color.

The tricky part is when I change the color or number of either cell, I'd love to make the other cell do the exact same thing automatically, without having to copy/paste.

Please let me know if there are any solutions to this or if you require any more details

I can't think of any why to do what you want using a formula, which
means you will probably need some type of VBA code or macro to get
it done.

Sorry, may VBA skills are minimal.

How did the cell become "red"?

If you are using conditional formatting, then its difficult to do what you want even with VBA.

If it's "red" because you filled it with "red", it's bit easier.

It only becomes red when I fill it red. No need for conditional formatting.
