When merging data from an Excel spreadsheet into the Word Mail Merge letter, the "Annual Fee" column which is formatted as currency with 2 decimal points and no "$" shows in the spread sheet as 40.00, 39.98, etc. but when it is merged into the letter it shows as 40 or 39.979999999... -- how do I repair this problem? I am working in 2000 NT (a version I have never worked with before) and need an answer tomorrow when I go to work. Thanks for your help!!

I'm not sure what version "2000 NT" is, but I'm assuming it's Office 2000? Or do you mean Windows 2000? Regardless, you can either format the Excel column to show the dollar sign, or add a dollar sign right before the filed in the Word document.

Thanks for your response, Jennifer. The problem isn't the $ sign, it is the fact that I can't get the dollar amount to show the correct 2 decimal points: $40.00 not $40, $39.98 not $39.97999... The operating system is Windows 2000 NT and the Office Version is also 2000 NT (The mail merge wizard looks like Office XP, not Office 2000). Any ideas?

So, Windows 2000 (not 2000 NT) :) I would say that your data is being entered into your Excel cell with more than 2 decimal points, which then is being rounded accordingly. If so, Word will indeed display the complete cell contents, and not the rounded number.

Check your data entries and make sure there are only 2 number following the decimal points.
