Comment:

I am using Microsoft Word 2007 and every time I open a new document the cursor is centre justified. From a search on the Internet I gather this has something to do with “Normal.dot” but I am unable to find it or for that matter I have no idea how to rectify it.

Any advice will be appreciated.

Thanks for the pointer DerbyDad... In Windows 7 and Word 2007 the pathe appears as "Users>Ewen>Appdata>Roaming>Microsoft> Templates" and the file is shown as "Normal.dotm"

I have renamed it Normal.dotm.bak and hopefully when I restart it wil recreate it.

[Later]

I restarted and re-opened Office. The new document opened properly and although Normal.dotm never appeared in the path I saved the open document in Templates with that name and as soon as I closed Word the document appeared properly named.

All is well and thank you for your help.
