Java Web Start crashes

Here's the error message I get from the machine:

Dyld Error Message
Symbol Not Found:
_JVMGetLatestInfo

Is there a way to repair/reinstall Java? Sun says to go to System Update, but there are no Java updates listed, so that accomplishes nothing.

Try removing it and then going back to Software Updates from the Apple menu to reinstall it.
