Solved Is it absolutely necessary to archive outlook 2013

Specs: Windows 7 Pro
I am the IT guy for a medium size business
The client runs Outlook 2013 and we are on Exchange 2012

Some of our very busy Executive have a 20 to 25 GB mail box

It's my opinion to not make them archive their mail, but I am getting some opposition from one peer.

I read an article from MS that a pst or ost in 2010 or 2013 defaults to 50 GB ( so I'm wondering if I have to force these very busy Executive to archive their email.

We have enough room on the server hard drive and we do nightly backups.
What will happen if we do not force these two mail accounts to archive?

I do not use Outlook, but did find this article that may solve your problem.

It explains an AutoArchive feature in Outlook that may be of use.
