Neither one of those programs needs to be installed to share files. You'll need a Samba server so that Windows can see the MAC.

Thanks, but I was not after that type of Full Sharing... I was just
referring to someone sending an email with a file for things like
Windows Medial player, or Real Player.... I just want the receiver
to be able to open the file and play it....

I have a Mac user on one end getting files like this from a PC
user, and the mac user is unable to open all the files sent...

And also, I have a Mac user sending stuff to a PC user..and
cannot open those files....

I was trying to ID the collection of software, simple widely used
like Windows Media Player.... which has a version for both the
mac and pc....

Both users are unable to open files they receive from the other
platform. I have had questions like this before, and each time I
feel like Im repeating myself to a new user, so I thought I would try
to id a full set that each platform user should have on their
system....Since Im not a pc user, I don't know all the related
software they have.

They both are often forwarding something to each from a web site, or youtube, etc...
