Comment:

I recently purchased a laptop with Vista (Boo, I know) Premium along with Office 2007 Student and Teacher Addition. I am in need of installing and posses a copy of Office 2003 Professional however when I try to install it I eventually get the message: "Installation Error: File not Found. A required installation file CR561401.CAB could not be found." The Installation does not move from "Current Action: Waiting for cabinets to be cached to local installation source.." and the same file, File: CR561401.CAB. Supposedly Office 2003 is compatible with Vista? And to me this does not seem like a compatibility issue. I tried right clicking the setup file and running as administrator but same problem. I am out of ideas; any solutions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Try a clean Boot.
Click on Start, in the start Search bar type MSCONFIG and Press Enter.
Click on the startup Tab and then click on Disable all
Click on the Services Tab and tick Hide all Microsoft Services (Bottom Left corner)
Click on Disable all.
Apply, OK and then Restart. After the restart, try the Office installation again.
after the installation, go back to MSCONFIG and enable all again in startup and Services.
