Hi,
i just got a new computer and it has Windows XP. i am trying to install Office 2000 Small Business on it with the discs i have from a prior purchase. however, midway through the installation, i get this error message:
Error 1305. Error reading from fil: D:\PFiles\Common\MSShared\Proof\MSTH3BR.LEX. Verify that the file exists and that you can access it.
i have verified that the file exists. i have heard that there are problems installing office 2000 on winxp, but i also heard it can be fixed. i can't seem to figure it out.

I have installed Office 2000 on many XP machines with no problems...
However, it appears you are attempting to install it on your D:\ drive...
I don't know if it will make any difference, but I suggest you try to install it in the default location... C:\ drive
Good luck Steve

I have been trying to reload Office 2000 on my XP machine and now I keep getting: Missing Installer Patch. I cannot even repair the existing install. Any ideas?? This program used to work fine. I read about someone who had problems after installing the Blaster fix. Would appreciate any help.
