Comment:

I cannot open the inbox from Outlook 2000 on my windows XP. There's a "cyclic redundancy error" everytime outlook is open. I tried to use chkdsk(scandisk) then run inbox repair tool to fix the .pst file, but the tool keeps telling me to ScanDisk before running the tool. I already checkdisked the hard-drive several times, but still can't run the tools.

I also tried to backup the pst file by copying to other folder, drives, even other PC through network but nothing works & the error is always there for any action taken. it seems that the pst file cannot be copied, modified, or anything else.

Please help me....I need to check my previous mail urgently.

Right click on the pst file and go to properties. check to attributes, if read only is checked, uncheck it.
