Urgent help/advice please??
Some history:
I got into a situation where a profile was removed off a PC and this box was originally a Networked PC.
The box got changed recently to a Workgroup as was no longer connected to an Exchange 2003 server.
But this PC was working fine with Outlook until this happened.
It turns out it was using an .OST file for outlook as a stand-alone PC! So access was lost to all email.I found a tool on the web called ost2pst.exe
It does state that it doesn’t support 2003, but this PC was setup originally on an old NT 4server running Exchange 5.5.
The PC was running office-Outlook 2000!I ran the program which reported no errors.
The only problem is that it turned all items to mail items, calendar etc… Not urgent as it looked like it had restored all the mail and sub-folders plus attachments. The problem.
New mail is downloading and I get the usual pop-up and if I open from the pop-up you have new mail etc… It opens the email fine, dandy, it works! But this mail does not show up in the In-Box !!!!!!!!!!
I’ve completed a full search of all folders and the new mail is not found.Questions:
Is this just bad luck and Outlook corrupted?
Was this the tool I used to recover the OST file ost2pst.exe?
Can it be fixed or at least drag and drop old email into a new In-Box?
Is there a way to recover the new missing email and attachments?Note. In Outlook today view the inbox is showing in Bold new email 30 etc… But when you click on this several things can happen.
Goes to in-box and just list previous email but no new email.
Locks-up.
Crashes PC.I’ve upgraded to Outlook XP prior to restoring as outlook 2k kept crashing!
Any help is really welcome?
