Please help me... I am trying to format particular cells in my worksheet (a copy and paste) and when i try and select the cells i want to alter, it won't let me. Instead it highlights a whole group of cells surrounding the first cell i click on.

Do you get any kind of error message?

Sounds like your Copy area and the Paste area are not the same size and shape.

That's my issue... i'm copying a group of cells from one worksheet and trying to highlight the same group of cells to paste into the other worksheet but when i go to the sheet i want to paste into... clicking on the first cell (normally i would then highlight from that cell a specific area) it automatically highlights a giant group of cells and will not let me select which ones i want!

Any merged cells involved?

Instead of selecting the whole area to paste to,
what happens if you just select the corner cell and paste?
