Solved I want to total mileage based on date

July 8, 2011 at 19:25:09
Specs: Windows 7
I hae a vehicle mileage log that I track my business miles in. A1 has the date, B1 has the customer name, C1 has beginning mileage, D1 has the ending mileage, E1 has total mileage for customer. What I want is at the end of the day, based on the date in A1, is a formula that will total all the miles and then put that total in Column F on the same line as the last entry for that day.....I hope this wasn't to confusing...Thanks in advance.

✔ Best Answer
Is the date in A1 repeated in A2, A3, A4, etc. until it changes for the next date and then repeated again until it changes, e.g.

1 01/02/11
2 01/02/11
3 01/02/11
4 01/02/11
5 02/02/11
6 02/02/11
7 02/02/11
8 02/02/11
9 02/02/11

If so, put this in F1 and drag it down:

=IF(A1<>A2, SUMIF(A:A,A1,E:E), "")

DerbyDad03, that worked awesome. I had played around with some different formula's but couldn't figure out how to get rid of the 0's that are not necessary. Your formula did the trick. Sorry for the delay, I got busy and couldn't get back to this project.
