i usuall have to hit receive and send button every time.
i need to set it to delete items that are 3 months old.
I take it that this is two questions, in which case to set Outlook to automatically send/receive at set intervals, click on 'Tools' then 'Options', select the 'mail setup' tab and click the 'send/receive' button - you can choose how often the program automatically sends/receives, whether it sends/receives on exit and numerous other options. For automatically deleting items after a certain time under Tools/options again, choose the 'other' tab and then select 'autoarchive' In there are a number of different ways to handle old emails.
