I am working on a project in excel and cant figure out the formula.., is there a way to simply take a cell and multiply another cell containing a percent and to place the total (whole number) into another cell... Is it really that difficult or is it just me trying to hard to figure it out..lol please help
Example: I need a total from one column and then multiply 5% to give me a total for the next column.

in the cell where you would like the multiplied percentage number to show up it would look like this

where a5 is the summed total. to get the total plus tax u would use 1.05

Thank you for answering my question. I did, however, figured it out.. but your formula is much easier to compute than mine.. lol.. I do greatly appreciate your input and will do well to remember in the future.. thanks again.. :-)
sorry for the confusion.. my computer was being too slow so I wasn't sure it sent it the first time..
