Hyperlinking File Names in Excel Cells

Specs: Windows XP
I have an ID project that I'm working on. We used to use colored backgrounds to distinguish what every one's roles were. Now, everyone must have the same gray background. Over 12,000 jpgs have already been photoshopped to appear as having a gray background. The 12K jpgs are individually saved in a folder called Photos. Then, in an Excel file, I have a table containing records for all 28,000 employees, or in other words, 28,000 rows.

What is the best way to match the photos in the folder, to the records in Excel? The photos each have a unique name and that unique name appears in the Excel worksheet as a field name. For Example:

Photo's file name: adksu.jpg
Excel entry: John Doe 1/1/1900 Maintenance adksu

I simply need to associate the appropriate records with the 12,000 photo's that exist.

Any and all suggestions will help.

Quickest way that comes to mind:

Sort your Name list by photo name

Get a CSV file of all your jpegs.

Import the CSV file into your Excel sheet

Sort your JPEG list

They should match up.
