Greetings, after using Word 6 for many years I now have office 2000. When I try to compose labels in the newer version, the cursor defaults to the center line of the label. I want to start the text in the upper left corner, which I could do in the older version of Word.
I opened Word, and clicked on tools, and envelopes and labels, and labels, and new document. Thanks for your help

If I remember this correctly, and I may not, open up the label like you have been.
Hit the enter key and the cursor will drop to the next line.
Then hit the backspace key and the cursor will go all the way to the left.
I don't have 2000 here.
How to make this permanent, I don't know.

Hello,
When you are using the Label templates they are actually blank tables so to adjust anything to do with layout, highlight the whole table and go to:
Tables Table Properties - then click on Cell and change the alignment from center to top or bottom
While you are in properties take a look around, lots of good stuff in there.
I do not think that this makes permanent changes to the label templates so I would save the new layout with a file name and use it rather than the label templates which are all programmed to come up center.
Hope this helps...
Teres
