how to translate Portuguese to English in excel 2010

Specs: Windows 7

Hello Everyone, please help me if you are able to. I am trying to put a function or formula into "column C" in excel that translates "column A" from Portuguese to English. I would like column A to remain unchanged.

I can use google translate online or the excel tool for translations. Also is there anyway to enter it so that all capitals are changed to lowercase. The translations from google.com are very different based on capitalization.

Not sure this will be of any help, but Excel 2007 does have a Translate feature.

See here for more info:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/e...

I haven't used it, put if you look on the Ribbon, in the Review Tab
you should find the Translate feature.

I know you can Copy the translation or you can Insert the translation
into a cell.

How you would put it all together into something you can use should
be an interesting exercise.

Good luck

I played with the Translate a bit and I'm sure there are better way to do this,
but just as an example:

First call up the Translate function
it should pop-up in a window on the right side of the screen.

Next put a word in cell A1 and press enter
Next hold down the ALT key and with your mouse, re-select cell A1
You should see the translation in the window on the right side.
Move your cursor to cell B1 and near the middle of the window
should be a button the reads Insert if you click this button,
it offers two choices, either Copy or Insert
selecting the Insert and you should now have your
translated word in cell B1.

It would seem that a Macro would be able to stream line the whole
process, but my VBA skills are not up to this type of challenge.

Again, good luck
