How to reinstall word back on a Mac computer?

Specs: Macintosh
Hi, I did something to my Microsoft Home and Student 2008 program for Macs, and I do not know what I did to it. I accidently placed word in the trash and after retrieving it, it now would not work. So, what do I need to do to relaunch it so I could do my College online courses? Please Help me!

No idea if there's a specific problem with Macs but have you tried just putting the Office disk back in and reinstalling? If it was preinstalled then is there an equivalent to 'add/remove programs' which lets you repair the installation?

Ok. I registered just so I can help with this problem. I did the
same thing and I am taking classes online and have been
desperately trying to reinstall or figure out what to do. I am a
retard when it comes to computers. This is waht I did and it
worked. very easy!!!! Pull word out of the trash and drag it to
your desktop. then click on "finder" at the bottom left side of
the computer. click on applications. find "office word 2008".
open it up. should have encourage and exel... all you do is
drag word from the desktop to that page. Then it should
work. It worked for me I hope it works for everyone else.
