How to make exel like word

hi im using office 2000. I'm typing a resume and i want to make sure that everything is inline so i use exel cause it has those lines so u know if it is straight or not. the problem i am having is when i type " - " followed by something it thinks im typing a sum. how do i disable everything so its like word.

I think making a Table inside Word will suit you better, unless you need the mathematical features of Excel.

Uh, whats the matter with using the indent markers shown on the ruler above your doc? Just drag em where you want them. It works best if you highlight all the text you want aligned first.
If you submit an excel sheet for a resume, I guarantee the employer is, first, going to laugh his ass off, second, delete your email.

Good point Trip. I must have overlooked the word "resume" in the original post and concentrated on the task he had in mind.
Microsoft Word actually contains a Resume Wizard, why not try that Matty? Cick on the following menus:
File - New - Other Documents - Resume Wizard

highlight the sheet, right click, choose format cells, under the number tab choose text. hope this helps. Snap
