I created a 480 page document, of which the first 4 pages is front matter. How do I hide the headers for these 4 pages?

I'll assume your using Microsoft Word.

Open the document.

Click the "Insert" tab in the menu bar.
Click the "Header" icon.
In the drop-down box, click "Remove Header"

You may need to make the first four pages a separate section (sction one); the remainder of the document being (logically) section two.

Otherwise simply removing the header (as per phil22's excellent "how to") will likely remove the header from all pages?

OOPS! I though I had posted my question under OpenOffice. Sorry I didn't make that clear.
