I have a number of files (100's of names and addresses) that were originally created using WordPerfectWorks 2.0 with wpw file extension. Since I have updated to Windows 7, I cannot open the files and one of my original installation floppy disks is damaged so I cannot re-install the program. I have tried opening with Corel's WordPerfect but it doesn't work.
Any suggestions?
What program are you trying to open the .wpw file with?
MS Word?
What version? In Word 2007 there is an option to Recover Text from any file
You could also try opening the file with Notepad or Wordpad or an editor like Jedit you will probably see a bunch of garbage at the top of the file which is formatting info used by the original program, but with luck if you scroll down you may be able to salvage the data
